Spiritual Direction Philosophy

As one who has been on a spiritual quest since my Roman Catholic childhood, I believe that we are always in the act of becoming. My own curiosity about how people come to be who they are helps me to listen deeply to what may be behind the stories they tell. I believe it is in the telling of our stories that we become known to others, and to ourselves, often in new ways.

My experience encompasses life transitions, grief, chronic illness, healing, women’s issues, addiction, and LGBTIQ.  In addition to active listening, I draw from such techniques as journaling, meditation, poetry, and specific exercises to aid in the discernment process.
