Spiritual Direction Philosophy

I’m a spiritual companion, coach, deathwalker, and conflict transformation specialist who is passionate about the sacred work of threshold tending.

Spiritual companionship is the act of creating a sacred and nonjudgmental container in support of a Seeker as they tune into the presence and action of the Divine in their daily life, fostering a deeper, more intimate relationship with the Divine and promoting spiritual growth and transformation. It’s a “holy listening” process, distinct from counseling or mentoring, focusing on the Seeker’s unique journey, questions, and needs. I offer spiritual companionship for individuals, couples, and groups.

I’ve navigated plenty of thresholds myself, including coming out as a queer person, changing my life direction to pursue a career in higher education, and navigating the (sometimes rough) waters of my spiritual journey. I was graced by wonderful companions who helped me at each doorway, not pushing me through, but helping me to discern what path to take. I was raised Catholic and retain a love of ritual and liturgy from that experience, and I found Unitarian Universalism as the religious and institutional home that felt most aligned to me. Throughout the course of my spiritual development, I have delved into the mysteries of earth-centered traditions, cultivated a deep sense of peace and purpose from Buddhism and Hinduism, retained a strong love of ritual from Catholicism, and explored mysticism across spiritual traditions.

And now, I accompany individuals, couples, and teams standing in life’s thresholds, tending the sacred transitions that call them toward wholeness, freedom, and spiritual depth. With expansive curiosity, a deep and abiding sense of purpose, and humility, I accompany you through whatever threshold you may be encountering.
